About Us
The history of our organizations is a history of places and people and solidarity between them. Each of our organizations was born out of the organizing efforts of passionate individuals coming together around their frustration with the status quo, and their belief that models built on waste picker expertise and leadership could not only better serve waste picker communities, but also have a greater environmental impact.
All of our organizations took shape in response to our communities’ unique needs. At the core of these is our understanding that any effort to support waste pickers will only be effective with waste picker involvement from the outset.
